Putting Faith into Action—One Home at a Time

For many years, First Presbyterian Church of Grove City has been a proud participant in Cabell-Lincoln Workcamp, a week-long mission experience that brings together youth and adult volunteers from across the region to serve communities in need throughout Cabell and Lincoln counties in West Virginia.

Workcamp is more than just a service trip—it's a chance to live out our faith with hammers, paintbrushes, and open hearts. Each summer, teams are sent out to repair and restore homes for residents who are elderly, disabled, or economically disadvantaged. Projects include everything from building wheelchair ramps and fixing leaky roofs to painting, drywalling, and porch repairs—all at no cost to the homeowners.

A Tradition of Service

Our church has participated in Cabell-Lincoln Workcamp for well over a decade, sending intergenerational teams of youth and adult leaders to serve and grow together in Christ. For our students, it's a powerful hands-on lesson in compassion, humility, and teamwork. For our adult leaders, it’s a yearly reminder of how God's love is made visible in ordinary work done with extraordinary care.

During Workcamp week, participants worship together, build friendships, share meals, and experience the joy of making a real, lasting impact in the lives of others.

Faith That Builds

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
— James 1:22

Cabell-Lincoln Workcamp is a cornerstone of our church’s outreach, helping us embody the call to serve our neighbors and grow as disciples of Christ. Whether you’re a seasoned builder or have never picked up a paintbrush, there's a place for you in this life-changing ministry.
