Stephen & Rachel Katterhenrich

Stephen and Rachel Katterhenrich are long-term mission partners supported by First Presbyterian Church of Grove City through Wycliffe Bible Translators. Both grew up in Grove City, and Rachel is a child of this congregation. Since 2010, they have faithfully served among the Bungu people of Tanzania, working to make Scripture accessible in the Bungu language.

Stephen serves as a leader on the Bungu New Testament translation team alongside two Tanzanian pastors. The team is approaching a significant milestone as they near completion of the Bungu New Testament. Recent work has included the final checking of Romans, most of 1 and 2 Corinthians, and the beginning of translation work on Revelation. In the coming year, the team plans to revise and finalize the entire New Testament, after which the Bibles will be printed and distributed to the Bungu people.

In addition to his work with the Bungu translation team, Stephen provides technical support to other Bible translation teams throughout Tanzania, strengthening the broader mission of Scripture access across the region. Rachel serves in a human resources role, supporting staff and systems that make this long-term work possible.

Through our financial support and partnership, we walk alongside Stephen and Rachel as they help bring God’s Word to life for the Bungu people and support the global mission of Bible translation through Wycliffe.
